After graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, Sharron R. Edwards went on to receive her law degree from that same institution in 1987. A member of the Holderness Moot Court and the Order of the Coif (an honorary scholastic society recognizing law students who attain a high grade of scholarship), Sharron R. Edwards has a long history of academic excellence and professional accomplishments. As a past president of the Pitt County Bar Association, Sharron has distinguished herself not only in the classroom but also in the courtroom. She is currently a member of several professional legal organizations, including the North Carolina and American Bar Associations, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers.
Sharron and Joe met at the University of North Carolina law school and were married after Sharron graduated from law school. Although Joe and Sharron’s three sons are now grown, one of Sharron’s happiest roles is that of mom to her three boys! The couple have served on the Pitt County Young Life Committee since 2006. Sharron has also served as a Wyldlife leader (Young Life for middle school) since 2012. She is an active member of Oakmont Baptist Church, teaching adult Sunday School, helping lead 7th and 8th grade girls’ Bible study, tutoring in the Backyard Buddies program, and serving as a deacon.
